At RIRSBC, we are a non-profit organization founded by immigrants who are passionate about helping newcomers to Canada navigate the resources available in the province. We understand the challenges that come with settling into a new country and are dedicated to providing comprehensive settlement and integration services to assist refugees and new immigrants.
Our mission is to welcome and provide settlement services for refugees and immigrants, supporting equitable treatment for all and embracing cross-cultural differences.
Our team of Settlement Counsellors are dedicated to welcoming and assisting newly arrived refugees and refugee claimants in their settlement and integration journey. Our services include;
- Receiving government assisted refugees at the airport
- Assisting in establishing a settlement plan
- Providing information and orientation about life in Canada
- Referring to community services such as housing, English classes, employment counseling, health, financial support, and legal services
- Offering interpretation and translation services
- Assisting with form filling
- Providing informal counseling
- Advocacy and support
- Information about Provincial and Federal Government services such as healthcare and social services.
